One Million Bones was a large-scale social arts project, which used education and hands-on art making to raise awareness of genocides and atrocities going on around the world.
Through a series of lectures with the founder, Naomi Natalle, and hand-building bone workshops, led by Melissa, the Corcoran faculty, students and staff created over 1,200 handmade ceramic and biodegradable paper bones that contributed to the One Million Bones collection.
